2. Search and Prove (typically months 2 and 3)

In this stage we concentrate on developing the idea or concept to a ‘proof of concept’ stage. Typical activities include:

• Preliminary discussions on your invention’s novelty with our Patent Attorney
• Discussions on the type of legal protection that may be appropriate
• Design input and modification to improve commercial potential
• Competing or similar product searches and desktop market research
• Initial enquiries for government funding programs
• International patent search and freedom to market reports (by Patent Attorney at 3rd party cost)
• Introduction of a prototype workshop for prototype work if necessary
• Initial design drawings for patent applications (by drafting company at 3rd party cost)

Deliverables at this stage:

• Feedback from our patent attorney on the patentability and options
• A completed design concept for commercialising
• Pre-production prototype of design
• Information on suitable funding programs
• A report on International patent and freedom to market
• Design drawings
• Recommended next steps

The minimum commencement fee for stage 2 is $1500* + GST per month. If you wish to pause the project this is possible at the end of any month. The above fees do not include third party expenses which will be quoted for your decision prior to commencing any third party work for example Patent Attorney searches, industrial design, drafting or prototype building services

On to stage 3
